Gamyaht

Hello!

This week has been a very good week. Last Pday we hiked Lion's rock which is a pretty big mountain that overlooks all of Kowloon and Sha Tin. Except the day that we hiked it the air was really foggy and polluted so the view wasn't as good as the clear days. But it was still super fun!

This week we tried a lot of different styles of finding new investigators. On of these days I went on exchanges with Elder Bertolli (who has one arm) and we went and did some soccer finding. So we went and walked around to 2 different courts and played like a 30 minute game on each court. And after we tried to teach them. Most of these kids were just interested in our free English class. And later that night Elder Bertolli and I tried to do some Basketball finding. We played a little basketball game and this time the kids had a little more interest but they still didn't seem too promising. But it was worth a shot and fun to try some new types of finding.

We also met with our progressing investigators. They are progressing really really slowly but they are super close to being able to receive a baptismal date. We will just keep working with them and hopefully everything turns out alright.

Well that is pretty much it for this week dou a mah dou mh yihng dak!

There were also a lot of monkeys on this hike. I don't know if you can see the monkey in this picture because my camera is pretty bad.
This is Alex on the right who loves missionaries and comes to our English class haha.

Leih hou!

This week has been a really good week! To start it off we went to Big Buddha! It was super cool and really interesting to learn more about Buddhism and learn how some of it is actually pretty similar to the things that we believe.

This week we did a lot of work with less actives. We did a zone find to go see if we could find less actives in the Tin Sau area. It was very hard because most of the hotel/apartment guards (I don't know what they are called in English) don't let us in. But it was super fun and we did find some less actives for the Tin Sau Elders to visit.

We also played some soccer with our less active named Yeung Yeung. He is about 12 years old and loves soccer. It was really fun and after we taught him about prayer he kind of opened up to us after that. And then we invited him to a stake soccer activity that we had two days ago. That activity was also way fun!

We also met with our progressing investigators Lam Sin Sang and Yip Sin Sang and they are doing pretty well but they don't have a solid foundational testimony on the Book of Mormon so we taught them more about that!

That is all for this week! I would love to hear from you guys!

Busy Busy
This week has been a pretty busy week! We just barely finished out transfer and got new transfer calls but I am staying in Yuen Long with the same companion. It was pretty interesting though because one Elder from our apartment finished his mission and went home. It was really spiritual to hear what he had to say about his mission experience and how it has changed him. It was also really sad to see him go because he was a very good friend!

This week we helped our investigator (Lam Sin Sang) move into his new home which is basically just a shack with a room that is just big enough for one person. They call these types of homes coffin homes because they will only fit one person. It was super cool but our investigator was still thrilled to have us help him and after that he came with us and toured the chapel of the Hung Seui Kiuh church building. He was impressed with how reverent it was. I could tell he felt something different! We will continue to meet with him.

We also tried to meet with more less actives this week but most of them didn't show up which was kind of chaam batgwo mouh mahntaih. We will just keep trying to meet with them later because they really need the strengthening and encouragement!

Oh and last pday we went bowling with Elder Siddoway and it was super fun. I didn't think China had any American bowling allies but this bowling alley is exactly like the Olympus bowling lanes back at home even with American music! It was super fun to see Douh Jeunglouh and to listen to American music!

Other than that we didn't have taai yeh. we also did start up a new kids English class which will be fun to teach because Chinese kids are super energetic!

Thats all folks. I would love to hear from you all!

This is the only picture I had this week and it was of bowling.

This is when we met with our investigator at McDonald's. McDonald's is a pretty common place to meet with investigators here.

Leih hou!

This week has been super good. To start it off our ward for pday took us to the jungle part of Hong Kong to do some BBQ! It was super fun and Chinese BBQ are nothing like American BBQ. They have like raw fish balls and squid and then a bunch of raw meats that you cook over the fire and sometimes I am not sure if the meat is completely cooked but I eat it anyway ha ha.

This week I went on two exchanges. One with Elder Stober and the other with Elder Fakatou. I love both these missionaries and it was super cool to see how there are different styles of missionary work but they all have the same goal and purpose. That was also the spiritual part of this week.

We also met with our investigator Lam Sin Sang and helped him move houses. He said with in the month he will accept baptism so this got us super excited and it really shows the power of service!

That was pretty much it! Please let me know how you all are doing! I would love it!

Exchanges with elder Fakatou! He was asleep during personal study.
This week one of my soccer coaches came to Hong Kong! It was super cool seeing him! He came and visited our ward! Yamil is the best!

Leih hou!

This week has been less busy because Christmas is over but it has still been a very good week! Last week was very good I got to Skype my family which was very fun and nice to see how everyone was doing!

This week we decided to do some service for one of our investigators, Lam Sin Sang. We went over to his house and decided to help him clean and organize his things. His house was super messy. He is a pretty old guy and has too many newspapers lying around. Keep in mind that his house is only the size of one room. So we cleaned up his 4 million newspapers and  washed his cabinets and dusted his pictures and things like that. It was super cool and he really loved it. He told us how being clean he feels closer to God. He always carries around a picture of Jesus now where ever he goes.

After this I had been on exchanges with Elder Jepsen who is from Idaho and we had nothing going on so we went finding for the whole day which was pretty good actually. We went finding on all the sky bridges which led to the MTR. It was really good. He is one of the new missionaries that just got here so we both still can't understand a lot haha but it was a good time and we managed to stop some people to listen to us.

We also taught kids English class this week. It was super fun. Because of the Holiday not many people came. The only two kids were Janet and Tina who are both pretty young (both under 13 years old) and are both going to get baptized! It was really fun because they both really like the missionaries. Previously I didn't really like teaching English class because it can be really hard but after this English class it was just super fun and the kids really appreciate the missionaries. They love hugging the missionaries it was super cute.

Other than that not much Happened this week! I would love to hear from all of you and how your holidays went!

We met with the Law family two weeks ago because she has a non member husband! It was super cool because it was Christmas time and she wanted all of us to share our thoughts/ testimonies about Christ.
All the food the members gave us on Christmas.
Here are some cable cars or Hingtit in Cantonese that we ride on.
Here is a church building on the right. This one looks just like all the other sky scrapers so if you are not careful you will miss it. It has like 10 floors.
On Christmas we went to this plaza and a bunch of Chinese people wanted to take our pictures.

This is a crowded MTR train. they just try to squeeze as many people in there as possible. It kinda sucks but it is cool.
We celebrate the new year by going to the Pizza Hut with the Mandarin missionaries.
