Hello!

This week has been a pretty good week! It was full of interesting things. I was a little frustrated because we haven't been able to find anyone who is willing or interesting in hearing the Gospel so that has kind of been a struggle and our teaching pool is very small now. That was probably the biggest struggle of this week.

This week was also good because we were able to meet with President Phillips. We had our transfer interviews with him. And that was super good he is so loving when he gives advice and it really helps. So that was really good.

This week we also ate dinner with an RC named Peter that is super cool. He is super busy and so he only comes to sacrament on Sundays but he is the only one of the young men that doesn't play on their phone during sacrament which is super cool to see.

This week I have started reading the Book of Mormon in Chinese. I am hoping it will help me focus more and be able to learn more Chinese as well so that has been fun and it has helped me focus.

Other than that not too much went on.

粉嶺同農場

你哋好嗎?

This week has been very good. For some reason pretty much all of our investigators just disappeared. So we are trying our best to find new people to teach.

On one occasion this week we went to the farm land part of 粉嶺 and knocked on some doors. And it was super cool because the people there compared to the people in the more city part are way nicer! They were all willing to talk to us and help us. But a lot of them did not have any interest but there were really nice. Where as the people in the city will completely ignore you. So that was super cool and we got to see some cool sites.

This week my companion got sick so we had to stay in for a few days so that wasn't too much fun.

That is pretty much it. I am very happy to be here and I love this place and the people here. It has been such a great opportunity to serve the people here. It has really made me a better person.

A Week Without Street Finding

Hello!

This week has been a good week. I am slowly getting used to this area. It is more rural than my last area and is pretty laid back and relaxed compared to my last which was in the city and everyone had places to go. But anyways this week our mission president told us to not go street contacting at all and try other methods to find people to teach. I think the reason for this is because our mission's culture is the only way to do finding is just street contacting which isn't the only way out there. And so we have to just be more creative. So throughout this week we did a bunch of cool things to try to find people to teach.

Here are some of the ways we tried to find. We tried looking for new ways of service and visiting places to see if they needed any volunteers to do service like once a week. We also did a lot of service ourselves such as picking up trash as a zone. We followed a river and picked up a bunch of trash as well as talking to people along the way. And my favorite one was we got a poster board and wrote "what makes you happy?" in Chinese on it and then walked around and had people write down what makes them happy. In an hour and a half about 70 people wrote things down and it was super cool to see what makes them happy. We even got to talk to a lot of them. So that was really cool.

Then this Sunday night we were invited over to a members house for a family home evening. It was super cool to see this family invite other families over to their smallish apartment and eat food together and then the missionaries shared a message. I really enjoyed it. I could really feel the spirit of these families as they gathered together to uplift one another. It was super cool.

That is pretty much it. This week I have been studying a lot about personal revelation. Which is super cool. And I read one of President Nelson's talks in the recent conference and he was talking about how receiving personal revelation is necessary for us to grow and develop. So I have been working a lot on receiving personal revelation for myself. President Nelson gave some points to help us and they are: we must be pure, exactly obedient, searching the scriptures, go to the temple often, and do family history work. So I have been trying to do those things. It has been very cool to see. And he spoke a lot about being thankful for blessings he has received as well. So I know that being thankful is a huge part of being more receptive to personal revelation. I have seen it on my mission.

That is pretty much all.

粉嶺

Hello!

So this week a bunch happened. It was transfers and on this transfer our sisters died. They all went home a month later than they were supposed to pretty much. So it was pretty weird because that means I only have like 5 more months left. And also I moved to my new area called 粉嶺 (Fenling). So I am excited to be here. It is in the New Territories. So it isn't as city like as my last area. But it was really sad to leave my last area. So many people that I have gotten to know and it was really really sad to leave them. So that was kind of hard.

On my last week in my last area. I didn't need to buy groceries because for literally breakfast, lunch, and dinner we ate with members because I was leaving areas and one of the sister missionaries in our ward was finishing her mission. It was super good. And on Wednesday night we ate with a member and after my companion went to the bathroom by the place we ate at and then some man came up to me and had interest to learn about Christ. So when we walked back out luckily our members were still there talking and they welcomed him and he was so happy but to make it even better he is one of our member's brother's friends so our member was really happy. He came to church this last Sunday but I wasn't there because I moved areas. And another investigator that I had found when I was there just got a baptismal date and is super solid. I have seen so many miracles this week.

As for my new area there isn't too much going on here so I am excited to see what can happen here. My companion is Elder Wong. His parents are Hong Konger's but he was born in Utah and he has been out for a little over a year. His Chinese is great too so it will be cool.

Other than that not much happened.

交換期。搬去粉嶺

你哋好

所以喇最近我哋收到新嘅照換。我喇就會去到粉嶺。都係少少緊張。但係知道我新嘅地區會好好嘅。

So I am moving to 粉嶺 (fan leng) area. After being in 牛頭角 for so long I am kind of sad to be leaving and to be leaving the people that I have loved and helped and have seen their lives change. But it has been super cool to make such good friends and meet such good people and help them improve their lives. And I am really really sad but happy too.

It was super cool to because they asked me and a Sister missionary serving in our ward who is going home to bare our testimonies. And it was super spiritual. And also really cool to see the members and have them be so thankful. I bore my testimony on service because in this ward I have really learned to serve anyone and every one no matter who it is. And though service we can become more Christ like. It has made a huge change in my life.

That is pretty much it. The pictures that i sent the one with all the people in it are from when the members invite the missionaries, Vanessa, and Angus over to their home to eat dinner on Sunday night.

That's pretty much it.
